In a collaborative effort supported by UMCOM and the Department of Communications of the United Methodist Church, a groundbreaking initiative has been launched: the commencement of a three-week mapping project covering churches in four districts within the Liberia Episcopal Area (LAC UMC).
This ambitious undertaking, announced in a press release on Thursday, will see communicators from the Monrovia, St. Paul River, Kakata Fahnmaton River, and Grand Bassa Districts participating in the initial phase of the mapping project.
Fth Lewis Teah Togba Sr, Director of the Department of Communications, highlighted the significance of this project, emphasizing its role in the modernization program of the United Methodist Church. He expressed his vision of making the Liberia Episcopal Area LAC UMC more visible both within Liberia and on the global stage.
The selected communicators tasked with gathering vital information from each church include Maxwell Sayeh from Monrovia District, Nicholas Johnson from Grand Bassa District, Seykajipo Amagashie from Kakata Fahnmaton River District, and Edwin Benson from St. Paul River District.
Fth Togba expressed gratitude towards UMCOM, Bishop Samuel J. Quire Jr (Resident Bishop LAC UMC), and the respective district superintendents for their support in realizing the mapping project.
Additionally, Fth Togba extended appreciation to UMCOM Strategic Project Officer Bro Pacome Nguessan for his unwavering support and cooperation throughout the training and preparation for the mapping project.
Training for the mapping project took place last April, conducted in collaboration with UMCOM’s Pacome Nguessan and the Department of Communications LAC UMC, setting the stage for this transformative endeavor aimed at enhancing the visibility and impact of the United Methodist Church in Liberia and beyond.
