United Methodist Church Aging Ministry Director applauds National and International partners for support to the ministry.
As she addressed the media from her office in Sinkor, Director Anna Kpaan said, ‘I enjoyed working with everyone (local and international partners) and wants to see a continuation of this relationship always and at all times’.
Taking a look back at 2022, Reverend Anna Kpaan said, despite the difficulties that were encountered, the aging ministry of the United Methodist Church was able to carry on with its work by the grace of God.
Director Kpaan said, ‘through the assistance of kind hearted people, the ministry conducted several health screenings for seniors that have been unable to visit hospitals for the past 10 to 20 years due to the lack of finances’.
Mother Kpaan then disclosed that, ‘the aging ministry has planned several important programs for the elderly people of the United Methodist Church’.
A visit to the southeast that is aimed at working with the people from that part of the Liberia Annual Conference was made in the early part of 2023, something that has not happened for the past two years due to the bad condition of roads leading to that part of the country.
The exuberant Director of the old people’s ministry of the United Methodist Church is calling on the younger generation not to see old age as a result of a disease or a burden but called for respect to be shown to the senior citizens at all times, no matter their condition…
Director Kpaan is also calling on the younger generation to always be of help to the senior citizens at every time and however reminded the youths not forget that it was the seniors that laid out the foundation on which they stand today.
The Ministry to the Aging of the United Methodist Church is engaged with catering to home bound seniors at the James Edward Britt United Methodist Old Folks Home in Lower Margibi County, Liberia; counseling, visitations among several others activities.
