The Resident Bishop of the Liberia Annual Conference, The United Methodist Church, consecrated and laid the cornerstone for the Blacktom Memorial United Methodist Church in lower Caresburg, Montserrado County, on December 3, 2023.
Bishop Quire expressed gratitude and appreciation to the Senior Pastor, Rev. Nelly Wright, as well as every facet of the church and those who made meaningful contributions to the divine project.

His theme, “Together We’ve Made It,” drawn from Nehemiah, conveyed the message that success in life requires a focused mind and seeking the intervention of God.
Founded in 1950 as a local preaching point within the Monrovia District Conference, LAC/UMC, Blacktom Memorial United Methodist Church has evolved to accommodate over two thousand five hundred members. The funds raised for this monumental achievement exceeded Two Thousand United States Dollars.

In her remarks, Rev. Nelly Wright expressed gratitude to Bishop Quire, officers, members, and all those who contributed to the success of the program.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of Mother Richlin K. Quire, President of the Pastor’s Spouse Association, Rev. Dr. Julius Y.K.Z. Williams, District Superintendent, representatives from the United Methodist University, dignitaries from Blacktom town, government officials, and other esteemed guests.
