During the 20th Baccalaureate Service of the United Methodist University (UMU), Bishop Samuel J. Quire Jr., Chairperson of the Board of Trustees and Resident Bishop of the Liberia Episcopal Area, delivered a powerful and uplifting blessing for the graduating class. As the service unfolded at the First United Methodist Church in Monrovia, The Resident Bishop of the Liberia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church, Bishop Quire extended his heartfelt prayers for the students, proclaiming blessings, favor, and breakthroughs in their lives as they prepare to step into the next chapter of their journey following the completion of their studies.
Addressing the graduates, Bishop Quire reminded them of the significance of their achievements and the importance of remaining grounded in faith as they transition from their academic pursuits to their future endeavors. “You have labored with determination and perseverance, and today, your hard work is being rewarded,” he said. “As you step forward into the world, I proclaim God’s blessings, favor, and breakthroughs upon each of your lives, no weapon formed against you shall prosper.May you carry the light of knowledge and the strength of character to make a positive impact in Liberia and beyond.”
He emphasized that the graduates, as future leaders and agents of change, have the responsibility to use their education not only for personal success but also to contribute meaningfully to the development of their communities and country. “Your education is a gift not just for you, but for the society that awaits your talents, skills, and passion. Go forth with confidence and faith, knowing that you are equipped for greatness,” Bishop Quire declared.
The Liberia Annual Conference Bishop encouraged the graduates to remain faithful to their calling and to continue striving for excellence in all aspects of their lives. He assured them that despite the challenges they may face, God’s favor would go before them, ensuring that they would overcome any obstacles on their path. “As you step into the future, may your lives be filled with prosperity and divine breakthrough, you will move from job to job,” he concluded.
The graduates, filled with joy and gratitude, received the blessing with enthusiasm, knowing that they were not only equipped with academic knowledge but also armed with spiritual encouragement and support from their leader of the United Methodist Church and Chairperson of UMU, Board of Trustees.
