The visiting Mission Chairperson of the Holston Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church is calling on Christians to begin focusing their mind on things that are above simply by changing our lives and accepting Christ.
Delivering the Friday’s Chapel Service message at the United Methodist Church central office in Sinkor, Reverend Chris Brown said, Christians are commissioned to tell other about the good news of their transformation and desist from confessing Christ Jesus with their lips only.
Reverend Brown then called on Christians to go beyond our comfort zone and even beyond what is being done on a daily basis in order to be reminded of what our identity really is.
The mission chairperson of the Holston Annual Conference however said, when Christians accept their identity in Christ, it brings about the change of one’s heart and mind that eventually lead to the development of a new life in Jesus Christ.
Reverend Brown then indicated that Christians do become the foundation of the church through the confession of Jesus Christ as the Messiah and not those gaint structures or buildings.
He meanwhile said, when our identity in Christ is accepted, we automatically begin to live differently as there is a change in our mind and heart.
