On a beautiful Sunday just outside Monrovia, James Edward Marshall United Methodist Church warmly welcomed the Monrovia District Deaconess Day celebrations. This special event was a heartfelt tribute to the exemplary service of Mother Sarah T. Y. Ponnie, who was recognized and celebrated as the District Deaconess of the Year.

The congregation gathered in the spirit of unity and gratitude, rejoicing in Mother Ponnie’s unwavering commitment to her faith and the community. As the accolades flowed, it was evident that her tireless efforts had left an indelible mark on the church and humanity as a whole.
The highlight of the day was the inspiring sermon delivered by Reverend Eddie Langama, a Counseling Elder from the esteemed Mt. Siana United Methodist Church. Reverend Langama eloquently expounded on the theme, “The Evidence is True, But the Story is a Lie,” drawing wisdom from Genesis 39:1-7. His words resonated deeply, reminding everyone in attendance of the power of faith, truth, and resilience.
As the day unfolded, smiles, warm embraces, and joyful fellowship filled the air. It was a celebration of faith, service, and the incredible impact that individuals like Mother Ponnie make in the world. The entire congregation joined in congratulating Mother Ponnie for her remarkable dedication and selfless contributions to the church and humanity.
The event was beautifully captured in a series of photographs, reflecting the joy, unity, and spiritual enrichment experienced by all who attended. These images serve as a poignant reminder of the uplifting day spent honoring a devoted servant of God and celebrating the unifying spirit of the United Methodist Church.
