FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LAC/UMC Central Office, Monrovia – The Bishop’s Cabinet of the Liberia Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church (LAC/UMC) is expected to convene its Mid-Year Cabinet Meeting in Zwedru City, Grand Gedeh County, Southeastern Liberia, beginning October 23 and concluding October 26, 2025.

The gathering will be held at the William Ross United Methodist Church, located on Deh-Suah Street in the Gee River Conference District in Zwedru.

This year’s Mid-Year Cabinet Meeting will bring together departmental heads and key leaders of the Church to review the progress made since the 192nd Annual Session and to assess the current state of the Conference’s ministries. The meeting will also provide a platform for strategic planning and policy direction as the Church continues its mission and evangelistic efforts across Liberia.

According to the Dean of the Cabinet, Rev. Peter Flomo Kaykpah, several departments have been scheduled to appear before the Cabinet on Saturday, October 25, to present reports highlighting their accomplishments, challenges, and plans for the remainder of the year. These departments include Evangelism and Missions, Youth and Young Adults, Agriculture, and the Council on Finance and Administration (CFA), among others.

Rev. Kaykpah emphasized that the purpose of these presentations is to ensure accountability, strengthen collaboration, and promote effectiveness in ministry implementation across the Annual Conference. He also stressed the importance of each department submitting written reports in advance to enable Bishop Samuel J. Quire Jr. and members of the Cabinet to review the information prior to the presentations.

The Cabinet, under the episcopal leadership of Bishop Samuel J. Quire Jr., serves as the executive body of the Church responsible for overseeing ministerial appointments, strategic decisions, and policy enforcement within the Liberia Annual Conference.

This Mid-Year session in Zwedru underscores the Church’s commitment to decentralizing its administrative functions and fostering stronger connections between the leadership and congregations across various districts.

As the Church looks ahead to the next annual session , expected to be held in Greenville, Sinoe County, next year, the Mid-Year Cabinet Meeting is expected to shape many of the critical directions and decisions that will guide the work of the Liberia Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church in the years ahead.

Signed,
Charles Gbayor
