The Department of Communications within the Liberia Episcopal Area launched the 2023 International Children’s Day of Broadcasting (ICDB) through the United Methodist Radio and UMCTV LIBERIA. This annual radio program spans from November to December 2023, aiming to educate children on broadcasting and nurturing their aspirations to become future journalists.
The ICDB program offers a month-long training that guides kids in learning the fundamentals of broadcasting, fostering their passion for journalism and nurturing their talents in this field. The initiative aims to provide a platform for children who aspire to become broadcasters, enabling them to showcase their abilities on the radio.
During the inaugural training session at the United Methodist Church Central Office in Sinkor, Lewis Teah Togba Sr., Director of the Communications department, reiterated the department’s dedicated efforts to ensure the success of the program. He encouraged the participating children to remain focused, determined, and committed, working hand-in-hand with facilitators throughout the training.
Gabriel Kanmann took an active role in instructing the children, supported by Solomon Harmon and Maxwell Sayeh, coordinators of the 2023 ICDB program. Together, they guided the kids, nurturing their skills and passion for broadcasting, and paving the way for a potential career in journalism.
