Monrovia – The Liberia Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church regrets to announce the passing of Mother Pet Eva Bailey Reed, a devoted member of the First United Methodist Church on Ashmun and Carey Streets. She served on several committees prior to her death and her most recent was with the episcopacy committee which is responsible to seek the welfare of the bishop and advocate for the episcopal office.
For more than 45 years, Mother Reed was a strong supporter of the mission of The United Methodist Church to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. She contributed immensely to the growth and development of the Liberia Annual Conference, leaving behind a legacy of faith, service, and dedication.
Resident Bishop Samuel J. Quire Jr., on behalf of The United Methodist Church in Liberia, extends heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones of Mother Reed. “We give thanks to God for her life of faithful service and unwavering commitment to the church. May her memory continue to inspire us all to live in love, faith, and service to humanity.”
